About Me

Shawn
Minneapolis, MN, United States
My name is Shawn. In a nutshell I am a financial crimes compliance professional, lawyer, disability consultant and advocate, nonprofit founder, super sports fan, movie buff, aspiring children's book author, Eagle Scout, and proud uncle. On July 12, 1996 I sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI) in a diving accident that left me a C-6/7 complete quadriplegic, which means that I am paralyzed from the chest down and use a wheelchair (see my July 12th post for a detailed, first person account of the day of my accident). This blog offers personal insight into the unique and often unknown intricacies involved with living the spinal cord injury lifestyle (check out my first post dated July 11, 2009 for more details about me and this blog).
